48th Dimitria Festival
Website for 48th Dimitria Festival
The Dimitria festival appears in the 12th century during the byzantine years, beginning as a celebration of St. Dimitrios, patron saint of the city. In modern times, the festival reappears in 1966 and is rapidly established as one of the major annual cultural events of Thessaloniki.
The 48th Dimitria is hosting more than 50 events and cultural activities. From September 26th until October 26th 2013, music, theater, dance and the visual arts will transform Thessaloniki into a multi-coloured cultural workshop.
Point Blank created the festival's website in collaboration with Yorgos Vourlidas (Hint) in the web design front. The visual identity of this year's edition was designed by Red Creative.
The major aim of the website was to inform visitors with simplicity and clarity about all events and venues of the Dimitria festival. The home page presents a slideshow of upcoming events of the next days, offering a parallel navigation based on topic or calendar - choices that accompany the visitor around the website. All content is well inter-connected, allowing visitors to establish their own criteria and explore the happenings of the festival in their preferred way.
