Point Blank wins award at the EBGE 2026 for the design of the Phonem Festival logo

The EBGE (Greek Communication Design Awards) is the most important and longest-running annual awards competition in Greece for professionals working in the fields of graphic design, illustration, web design, and visual communication in general.

We are particularly pleased that the logo we designed for the Phonem Festival won the EBGE Prize in the “Public Sector & Culture Logo” category. The Phonem Festival is Zurich’s international festival for improvisational and interdisciplinary music. You can view a detailed presentation of the project and the solutions we provided here.

At the awards ceremony, which took place at the Onassis Foundation’s Stegi on Friday, May 16, 2026, Point Blank was represented by George Kafezas.

Below is the text written about the work by the jury and published in the catalog of award-winning works from the EBGE 2026:

"This logotype renders the intangible nature of sound through a graphic language that is both dynamic and adaptable. It behaves like a living organism, pulsing and transforming. much like a musical composition in motion. Its contemporary and minimalist approach avoids static forms, instead embracing a visual flow that conveys melody and rhythm. Typography and linear elements interact to create a sense of pulse, capturing the essence of experimentation and artistic freedom that defines the institution. The result is a design that extends beyond recognisability, offering a complete aesthetic experience. With a language that feels both current and international, the logotype communicates the complexity of contemporary sound with disarming simplicity, forming the core of the festival's identity."
